Security forces in Barawe district in Lower Shablle region Sunday found the body of a 28 year woman whom medical tests note she was raped and then killed.
Barawe District commissioner Abdifitah Hassan Dhere told Goobjoog News the body of the 28 year old woman was recovered from a thicket in Abasibo village Sunday night.
“We recovered the body and investigations are underway to establish the circumstances behind her death,” said Dhere.
Medical reports from Barawe hospital where the body was taken to indicate the woman was raped and strangled to death.
The discovery of the body sparked protests in the coastal town.
